It doesn’t have to be Veterans’ Day for you to enjoy all of the military museums in Texas, but now is a good time to find one near a Texas RV Park or Resort you’ll be staying at during this holiday. We posted last week about parades around the state, and you can check out these museums and attractions to salute our nation’s heroes as well.
The USS Lexington is a World War II aircraft carrier that is now docked permanently in Corpus Christi. Visitors can board the ship to learn about its history, experience virtual battle stations, flight simulator and watch movies in the 3D Mega Theatre.
The U.S. Veteran’s Museum is located in Granbury, Texas, just southwest of the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. The museum is open to the public and has many military artifacts to educate the community on our American military history.
The National Vietnam War Museum features exhibits on the men and women who served in the war, as well as Vietnamese culture and history and of the Americans who supported and opposed the war. The museum is located in Mineral Wells, only 50 miles west of Fort Worth.
Texas is fortunate to be home to these and many more museums and memorials paying tribute to our nation’s veterans. Whether it’s Veteran’s Day or not, these attractions are worth visiting, and there’s always a Texas campground nearby.
